Been a while guys, great to be back. Took a long break from TT but now i can say i will play a little more regular.
I finaly sold my previous setup.
Took the plung into pimple (for backhand) tell you the truth, went so well i may change forehand as well, but for now maybe not.

Blade was using Black devil http://www.racketlon.co.za/shop/index.p ... oductId=84 , yes you guys were right, way to fast, really great blade, infact awesome speed and sound but not for my style. Changed to Andro Super core CL light (70g) http://www.racketlon.co.za/shop/index.p ... ductId=198
this is super light with some great control, i had to put a little more into my strokes because its lighter and slower than Black devil, but its helped with loops (never used to loop cause they went way over all the time, not enough brush). great sound too.

forehand rubber (which has helped me with control, chopping, looping, blocking is the Donic X3 Silver 2mm http://www.racketlon.co.za/shop/index.p ... ductId=212 , Had Baracuda http://www.racketlon.co.za/shop/index.p ... ductId=106 on before, Spin level says its high, but considerably less than barracuda - suits me fine, controlled chops alot better. speed great.

backhand, now this is where it gets interesting, previous posts said Andro Blowfish http://www.racketlon.co.za/shop/index.p ... ductId=173 was inacurate, i must say "WOW", so not true. i changed to pimples because i wanted to chop and defend more accurately on return of serve for example. here i must say it did the opposite, rubber very fast, chops all over the place and no control 9maybe i never had it in first place) after about 30min of play i said screw this, gonna play my game, started backhand smashes (slaps) a flick of the wrist and all my shots were going in and leaving opponent surprised. flat, hard accurate, no matter how much chop they put on it. Even off their chop serves, for this i am truly impressed and happy about. Im just not going to chop. had a Donic Waldner platinum http://www.racketlon.co.za/shop/index.p ... oductId=54 on before.

what you guys think?

the combination of these 3 has improved my overall consistency, accuracy, point accumalation and enjoyement. where to from here?. to the tables i say.

You could do a lot worse than a piece of plain old Friendship 802.

There are 2 real types of short pips out :classic pips out and grippy/sticky pips out.

Classic pips out : TSP Spectol or Friendship 802 are great examples of classic pips out-flat hits, powerful punch blocks, and a little "weirdness." I have used and still use 802 and it produces decent pushes, great blocking, powerful smashes and pick hits, and even very good chops. I can even get a decent top spin drive stroke.

Grippy pips out: Stiga Radical, Joola Tango Ultra, TSP SpinPips, (and Friendship 802-40 for me a sort of tweener). This rubbers allow you to use inverted type strokes, produce heavily spun serves, even good loops (except the slow spinny brushed loop). The top spin drive stroke is very powerful and has a high percentage. I can not chop with Radical and struggle with 802-400they are too fast and springy.
