whats is the before ban pip that plays more like flarestorm2? do you know any top players using this pip?

Before VOC glue ban, many top players used regular Spectol or Speedy PO and put multiple layers of speedglue on it.

No, I don't any top player who's using Flarestorm II... Most of our club's top Chinese players have tried it and found it too soft and bouncy. Flarestorm I is still preferred over Flarestorm II.

and the pros of flarestorm over the flarestorm2?

Firmer sponge, less tension, so better directional control and easier to impart spin.

Please stop over at the list of Classic or Grippy short pips and rate these please. We are trying to build a data base since short pips can vary widely on how they play. Ian.

I play with short pimples on my forehand side. The 2-3 months, I play with Haifu dolpfin, but I think it was a little too hard to play with so I switched to 802 tacky speed. I think it's the rubber you're looking for, I think it works perfect for smashing back at the loop and blocks.

I have tried 802, xiom zava 1 and Dr Neubauer pistol. I have found that Dr Neubauer Pistol is the most easily to chops, smash, spin and loop... But I was unhappy with the price. :( :(

I play with 802 on an old Austrian made Alpha blade on my backhand (black-with the magic red (looks orange to me) sponge about 1.8mm). This thing cracks through spin very well. This iteration of 802, for me, plays much different than 802-40 or Stiga Radical (which is very grippy).

With 802-40 I can let the ball go under table height and bring the ball up with a low topspin drive. I would never try this with 802. Used what it was intended for push (really good under spin) , block, counter, smash, it does an excellent job for me.

Ian

For me the dolphin is a faster vertion of 802-40. That rubber has lots speed and spin. it is therefore much more sensitive to spin, compared with 802

Actually for only flat hitting through spin, for me the best pip was a medium 563. Used for this (block, counter drive, smash) it is excellent but that is about it. I can chop with it but its like an Anti Chop-very little spin. This is about everything I can do with it...

if you like japanese touch so try flarestorm 2,1mm.but if you do not care about touch and you like harder sponge try 802 very good to hit trough spin and easy to block with but not very fast.dhs 651 allso is a good rubber to hit and block.
