Please see below the response I received from Joola having written to them about the potential ban of JTU. The English is not great but it's very clear that they think something went wrong in the testing process and they are confident this will not be banned. Phew!

Dear Richard,

thanks for your mail.

Even Tango Ultra stays at the ITTF List with sign it will be banned we expect it will be solved (story with ITTF) other way around. As you've said Tango Ultra is normal pimples out rubber and there is no reason to be banned. We strongly believe that first ITTF test was "wrong".

I hope this info will help you a bit. If you have any other question don't hesitate to ask.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / with best regards

Yes I got a similar answer from Galaxy... they just need to submit a new sample, and it should test fine...

I hope that this is the case with several others on the list as well...Any word from friendship on whether 799-1 will pass? I've got a sheet in 0.6 that reacts more to spin than pluto in 1.3, but apparently it will be banned.

No I have not heard form friednship, but the news sounded pretty conclusive so I doubt they've submitted new samples...

I hope these issues are resolved. If they tested old sheets that may have thrown off the results as JTU, Pluto, and 799-1 are all quite soft. Depending how they were stored, the pips could have hardened and changed characteristics.

If they retest fresh sheets, maybe that will clear things up.

Yes, Galaxy was certainly very clear on this, and seemed very confident it would not be an issue...
