Well physically it gets pretty close. The only difference being the pips are shorter. Ive played with Dr Evil a few times and I can safely say that it doesnt come anywhere close to Dr N rubbers.

Spin reversal is severely lacking on the Dr Evil. Most of the time just returning floaters. Its only supposed to be used in OX so attacking is hard. Only good thing going in its favor is its durability and slow speed.

It also reacts to the opponents spin much more then LP's. If your friend wants to try the Dr N style of playing. Saviga V OX would be as cheap and as close as he could get to it.

It is not really the same as Dr Neubauer beacause the Evil is a short pimples and only in Ox. The spin reversal is less important with the Evil but can be disturbing. As they say in the marketing, you can nearly chop everything but it is also possible to attack. I think it may be interesting but it asks some practise to use it correctly.

So I think it may be interesting then. If the blade is not too fast, it is good for returning the serve's, mainly with th antispin effect and the spin reversal.

Dr. Evil should work fine for serve return, or he could try Dawei Saviga V or Double Happiness C8 which both are supposed to return a lot of spin.

Sure, but i repeat it asks training, I still have mine in my "collection" and I will only try it again when I have time. However, I think it will also disappear in 2009 with the ban of others LP.

I mean: it is easy for a simple use, if you want to use it at a good level, as for a LP from Neubauer, you need more training.

If he's usd to a thick sponge inverted rubber an OX rubber with no spin is hard to get used to, particularly as it's so slow. Of course if he doesn't like this, it's a lot cheaper than a sheet of Dr. N. I doubt the direction matters.

A faster rubber that is still relatively spinless is 755 Faster. At least you can get the ball across the net with it.

I just had a one hour session with the great Mr kim in Brisbane using dr Evil on my backhand. It is sensational for blocking and returning serve. You need to stay close into the table on the Backhand side and I am using a Donic Dotec balsa blade. The control is great you just need to be patient and not overhit with it.

Do you mean it's great for control? Did you get much spin reversal?
