it is a long time since I tried leopard. Hpow would it compare to dhs 651?? Harder, faster, less spin, more 'down' effect in the blocks???

definitely feels a bit softer (but isnt soft!), less spin, but also less affected by it. concerning speed: i tried the 651 with 2.0 or 2.1 and the leo in 0.7, 1.0 and 1.5...i thought 1.5 was really fast, so i can only imagine what the leo is like 2.0 or above...so i guess that it would be faster.

just got back from trying leopard with my coach.
Leopard 2.00mm on the Joo is faster than 651 2mm on the clipper. A lot faster, 2 bounce serves took me a while. Sponge is softer, so if you bury the ball in the sponge you can produce more spin than the 651. So hi toss serves can generate more spin. Drives and hits cause fewer problems for opponents as the ball doesn't sink so much, but it comes at them a lot faster. Blocks are a lot easier - although passive blocks don't work. After 20mins I was quite happily alternating blocks and chop blocks.
Hitting through backspin is a lot easier.
Flipping serves is much easier
Over all control is a lot better so, for me, i have gained variation, control, speed, and more secure attacks against backspin and attacks against the serve... I've reduced the amount of 'sink' i get on hits and blocks
I'll work more with it

yes the backhand blocks need to be played actively..you might want to try a thinner sponge

I'm playing it on the fh... but I like it a lot. Quite like the ability to sink the ball - or not - into the sponge. A lot of variation. I was taking really loaded topspins right off the bounce and blocking with a lot of control... nice! And the Joo has the nicest handle I've ever played with!
