Check this out! Spectol and Spinpips are coming out in new Red/Blue variants. Has anyone heard anything about these, and where they fall in the current list of TSP short pips offerings?

Ah... finally out.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28973&p=305005

Reminds me of the green Spectol sheet I bought, once.

I think they're only just coming out now... so it will be hard to find anyone that's tried it.

agreed, i think i'm just going to get a few sheets of each, thoughts on 1.5mm vs 2.0mm vs max? i just started playing SP, i mostly punch block, passive block, rolling underspin, and flat hitting. I don't really chop block at all

Red is faster, spinnier, and softer compared with the Blue.

So currently in Tokyo, talked to a table tennis shop owner here, sadly blue and red are not available for retail in Japan until May. He described blue as a more "professional" rubber in that it's much faster and harder to control. The red is a spinnier slower version. Not sure about the sponge hardness of each as that's when we started to get lost in translation.

Sad that I couldn't buy it here yet.

I suspect the sponge on these rubbers might be the same as those use for the new TSP Regalis, which means the red is 40deg and the blue is 47deg.

I'm getting some samples of these in a few days time... so look out for a "free sample for review thread". ;)

The regular Spectol is just perfect.... Don't need the 21, the Speed or any other sponge. 8)
