Hello,

I am searching for return of experience about this short pimple (used at least several month or more, and not a couple of hours).
According to your own experience, is it suitable for a chop defense style ?

https://shop-ping.be/en/short-pimples/6 ... -color-red

Have a nice day.

From my perspective I don't think it would suit a chopping style. It's slow and has no grip, made for close to the table blocking and hitting. I feel like the lack of grip would make it too inconsistent.

Spinpips may be the be the best. That said, if you want to chop with short pips you need to have near infinite practice time and a great coach. SP are used by a few choppers, but I have never met or even heard of a non-pro level player who could do so.

Vanjr is correct, this style is VERY difficult to learn. As a result, I can't ever remember playing someone using this style in the roughly 25 years that I've been playing tournaments in the U.S.

The question I'd be curious about is, what is your style and rubber now? What is it that interests you about using short pips as opposed to long pips? Maybe some other users can give you more advice if you can describe what your style is a little more. Maybe there's a medium pip that could work for you.

Thanks for sharing that! If you are wanting to go to pips for better defense away from the table, I'd recommend long pips. I'm not an expert in terms of the best options, but you can find plenty of advice on this board in the long pips area. Whatever the new equivalent is to the old TSP P1-R (now branded under Victas, might be P1V) is always a classic.

Dr. Evil OX on a 3 ply Hock, makes for a great chopping combination. When I put it on faster blades, it did not work out very well, except for attacking.

I used Dr. Evil for years on my backhand, and I found it fine for chopping. Won't help against really strong loops from a good player, so it depends on your level of play. But it is extremely fun to play with. Hits well, too.

yes, for chopping needs very slow blade, something like lkt toxic 3
but for block and hit on all+ blade dr evil is very deceptive
