As OOAK Shop is the Australian TSP distributor, I'll be providing some samples of the new TSP Spectol Red and Spectol Blue that I would like to share with forum members to get some reviews. These rubber are due to be released soon. Here is the manufacturer information:

Speed oriented pimples out rubber with Dynamic Tension Technology
The classic rubber in a new style! Here comes the Tension-version of the legendary TSP SPECTOL, which already led to many major international titles.

Spectol Red - Spectol RED is equipped with a very elastic sponge, which is perfectly optimised to meet the needs of pimples out players.

TSP Spectol has been a top-seller for decades and one of the best-known short pips-out rubbers worldwide. Numerous major championships were won by players using Spectol, and even today many top table tennis stars rely on the special features of this legendary pips-out rubber.

Spectol Red is the softer and faster version featuring integrated Dynamic Tension technology. The very light Japanese offensive sponge provides for unique catapult effect and tons of speed. The proven Spectol pips design provides for highly dangerous pips-out effects dreaded by so many table tennis players. The red high-performance sponge of Spectol Red is softer and faster than the sponge of Spectol Blue.

sponge thickness: 1,5 | 1.8 | 2.0m | max
speed: 107 | control: 84 | spin: 86
Sponge Hardness 40deg

Spectol Blue - Spectol Blue is equipped with the latest generation of Tension Technology.

TSP Spectol has been a top-seller for decades and one of the best-known short pips-out rubbers worldwide. Numerous major championships were won by players using Spectol, and even today many top table tennis stars rely on the special features of this legendary pips-out rubber.

With Spectol Blue, TSP presents a new high-end version featuring integrated Dynamic Tension Technology for aggressive pips-out playing style. This rubber is a unique combination of speed provided by the hard open-pore tension OFF sponge and great pips-out effect provided by the special Spectol pips geometry. The blue high-performance sponge of Spectol Blue is slightly harder than the sponge of Spectol Red.

sponge thickness: 1,5 | 1.8 | 2.0m | max
speed: 104 | control: 86 | spin: 83
Sponge Hardness 43deg

I have Spectol Red in 1.5mm black and 1.8mm red, and Spectol Blue in 1.5mm red and 1.8mm black, so that's 4 rubbers up for grabs (I may choose to review one myself though). Obviously I would prefer people who have some experience with other similar rubbers for comparisons, and know how to write a review. Reviews to be posted here and will be added on my reviews blog. The rubber is free of charge and yours to keep, all I ask for is a review.

Who would like to review one of these rubbers? Post here (or PM me).

I'd happily give the Red (in red, 1.8mm) a go from a SP chopping perspective :)

I would like to try either in 1.5.
Which ever would be best suited to SP chopping. This is something I've been thinking about for some time. If you end up finding someone with more SP experience (I have only used 802-40, and 802) then by all means, give them preference.

So, does that mean that the rubbers are gone elsewhere, or that you still take requests?

If it's still open, and you accept requests from overseas, I'd be happy to test the "Red" (either one but I would prefer the 1.8 sponge). It would be paired with LP (probably Air UpUpUpUp Ox) on a fast (OFF+) blade for fairly aggressive playing.

My experience with SP is by no means extensive, so I will not be able to say a lot about how the rubber compares to other options.

haggsiv, did you get round to sending out the Spectol Red (red)?

I've read Agooding's review of the blue but can't find anything about someone reviewing the Red you were talking about.
