Hi Guys,

I’m looking for new short pimples rubber for backhand. I’m playing with Dr. Neubauer Tornado Ultra 1.5 mm and it’s not too much good for me. I’m looking for something with more disruptive effect for new plastic ball. I want to similar speed, spin and control.
I play close to the table with aggressive bloking and suprising attack.
My blade is BTF Viscaria. I tried Challenger attack, Spinlord Waran, Globe 889-2. It was usual rubbers - nothing special…

Could you recommend any rubber for me?
Thanks :) :)

Not easy if you want to find more deception in a short pimple.
Short pimples are mostly used for blocking and attacking.
The deception comes from the player knowing how to handle the pips: hitting trough spin, soft block, little topspins fast or slow,...
You have short pips with or without spin also. Fast or slow. That’s a difference.
But overall short pips do not have a lot of deception.

That's the reason I started Medium Pips. :D
Medium pips still have the ability to attack fast and have more sinking ball effect.
In medium pips you have a lot of variability.
Some of them are also more insensitive to incoming spin then short pimples.
Medium pips for me is al little bit of both worlds.

I have played against Tornado Ultra en I have to say that it has also a good wobble effect
And it has good control, good allrounder if you ask me.

I will give you these short pimples wich I know that they have ‘short pip deception’ also:
(but still you will have to learn with these, don’t expect miracles)

- Der Materialspezialist Breakout 1.5/1.8
- Stiga Radical 1.8 (more spinsensitive)

Maybe also:
- TSP Spectol 1.5/1.8 (good allrounder)
- Andro Blowfish 1.8 / Andro Blowfish Plus (+) 1.8

Hopefully this can help you a bit. ;)
