I personally found myself hitting wood way too much on an Avalox P700 using this brand-new sheet of Spectol 21, 1.8mm. Now I'm not really sure what to do with it, as it feels like I've just wasted part of this month's wages just to try it out. :?

Maybe I should have just wagered on the regular Spectol...

I've got a sheet of 2.0 red Tyranno, maybe we can do a trade.

Whats seems to be the issue with "hitting wood"?
Is it too slow? Feel issues?

I have Spectol 21 1.9 mm now on my BH and it is doing fine. I must note that I glued it onto my Darker Speed 90 (a softer wood than Avalox 700).

All these talk is making me contemplate trying the 2.1 mm version on the BH.

By the way, I tried the Spectol Speed 2.1 mm (FH) on my Darker and it is performing quite well. The harder sponge complements very well the relatively soft Hinoki blade. I had tried the carbon blade but it could not really beat the superior feel (blended with good speed) of the Darker.

It's like the ball bounces too fast for me to control it's direction very well. Similar feel to using a thin 1.0mm sponge and a hard blade, got be a bit bewildered there, actually.

Sorry, I'm already trading it with Yuzuki, unless he'd prefer 1.8 Spectol Speed in black rather than red 2.0 Tyranno. I think Alex stocks both though.

TSP Spectol 21 (thinkness 1.8mm) is suitable for Nittaku Acoustic blade on BH?

The sponge is very soft for a blade not stiff?

I wait your comments!!!!

Is there a pip that can help me to open like 802-40 but getting flatter and nastier blocks. some years ago i played with 802 regular yellow sponge and i got some dead returns but since my game has improved i dont know if i will get that again.

spectol 21, spin pips which one would help (open punch block) since i find too much information i m kinda confused

SpinPips might be too spinny.

IMHO, Spectol 21 has enough spin but still retains the effect of short pips.

BTW, Andrew's suggestions are good.

How is spectol21 knuckcle balls/control compared to regular spectol and spectol speed ? How much trouble makes compared to other pips like 802?

I have been playing with the Darker Speed 90 and love the speed.
However, I am looking for a more solid or crispier feel on the FH.

I am considering getting thinner and/or harder sponges.

My alternatives are using:

1. Spectol 21 - 1.9 mm
2. Spectol Speed 1.9 mm (1.5 mm perhaps?)
3. Spectol 1.9 mm

Any suggestions on this?

anybody know how is spectol21 with 40+ clippa is not good anymore?
