I played with Firestorm 2.1mm black today. Very dense springy pink sponge. Rubber plays harder than expected. Difficult to impart topspin when compared to TSP Spinpips RED. Not as good as Spinpips RED for keeping blocked loops down. Speed about the same. Makes a 'smack!" sound when flat hit with power which isn't exactly pleasing. I'll be trying it on a softer blade tomorrow but as it stands I don't see this pip replacing my Spinpips RED.

Played the Firestorm 2.1mm black on a few more blades today. Better on a softer blade but still feels (and sounds) hard and plasticky compared to Spinpips RED. Not the pip for me.

Hi nathanso, can you compare Firestorm with Waran?

It's been a while since I tested either but from what I remember, both felt plasticky and provided little grip or feel on the ball.
