I've never tried this but I know a high level player that used stiga royal instead of dolphin for sponsorship reasons. Not sure about hardness. good luck with spin pips let us know how it goes

If adyy has no objections, I would be happy to forward you some prototypes he made once I get them. All have the theme of "stiff, hard, fast, linear, dense". Although this is more of a curiosity project, and nothing is guaranteed. You need alot of that curiosity to test random blades haha. I admit, I'm a better EJ than a player haha.

Let's see first how the prototypes perform in China. 8)
Till then, there are other two prototypes that want/need to be tested.

1) A Butterfly Clearfield replica --- 7.2mm / 95 grams / OFF+ (1580 Hz)
2) A 6-ply Wenge-Spruce prototype similar in design to Nittaku Goriki SuperDrive --- 6.4mm / 96 grams / OFF almost plus (1473 Hz)
It's a Wenge-Spruce-Spruce-Spruce-Spruce-Wenge wood.

@Lula - you are based in Sweden?

Have not been able to try my 802 40 so much lately. But good control. Maybe a little slow, but i still think it is mostly about the technique. With a good stroke you play pretty hard. It is good to have a little slower rubber so you need to work on placement aswell. It is almost a little hard, so the control is little bad sometimes. Think it would be better with a thicker sponge. Spin is also pretty okay. Anyone tried it more?

Yes, i am in Sweden.

Doubt it. Most spinny short pips have wide and conical pips and high arc. Last time I played with dolphin it had a flatter arc

How about Spinlord Waran II?

Isn't that a hard topsheet and harder sponge, crisp feeling, spinny and super powerful?

Waran2 is too dead and the nicest feeling hard blade is nostalgic 7 flat arc is like an enhanced clipper.
Booster sa is the spinniest rubber that will give you sink I have tested against some 2400 juniors and its effective

Is it true that modern 802 40 topsheets have longer pips?

Lula what players are using 802 degu sponge? Know any with good rating
