I bought a sheet of 652 1.8 mm. Sponge and topsheet are softer compared to 652 1.5 mm. which I bought 5 months ago. The pips are also wider furrowed.

They did have to change 652 a couple years ago due to enforcement of the "Durban" rule.

Pips were not within the aspect ratio limits (too short) so they had to be redesigned. Maybe you got an older sheet?

Maybe that's the case but the DHS logo is exactly the same on both rubbers. In this case if one of them is not allowed how a referee could say which is allowed and which not?

Ack!
Another victim of the DHS rubber changes. I whined for over a month when my new sheet of DHS 651 came in longer, softer, wider and more spread than my old 651. It should be illegal for them to make such drastic changes to a rubber and use the exact same name. Other rubber manufacturers evolve their rubbers around changes in the rules, the 40mm ball or just how the game is being played, but they change the name with each variation.
