Currently trying to find a faster lp to replace the tsp ph, not really enjoying the alternatives, and then someone at the club mentioned they have a stiga clipper for sale cheap. Not tried it but I have so much control on the 651 fh it could be worth thinking about and thus keep an lp (TSP PH) that I really like and also have a lot of control for.
How does the clipper mate with sp, specifically the 651?

The Clipper is a classic short pip blade, was Liu Guoliang's choice after he switched from Avalox.

Clipper cr is a classic blade for the short pimples, and is well suited.

well the clipper was a great success, although my coach wasn't too keen. Much easier to handle than the cayman for example. Loads of gears for soft play - gentle blocks had a curve to them, but playing harder flattened that out nicely. The tsp ph was great too, so that is that!

What a great find. You must have more power now on your fh.
What version of the Clipper do you have?

just the standard clipper wood. sp / lp blades are really tricky, the cayman never worked for sp for me. The clipper has that soft touch when playing slowly that then becomes harder when you dig in. Tomorrow is the big test though - private coaching session - today was in a group, so the guy who runs that doesn't care what I use as long as I can give people a good training. My private coach was there though, and looked pretty disgusted when I showed him the clipper. Not many people around here like stiga blades, especially the clipper. My coach uses a dhs wang liquin (even though he's sponsored by Butterfly, and wouldn't have it when I told him it was made by stiga!)

Is the Clipper suitable for LP also? It's hard right? So that should aid with reversal.

it is a fast off blade, solid rather than hard - it has softish outer, but hard inner plies - I wouldn't recommend it as a first sp/lp blade, learning sp strokes would be tough IMO. A good starter blade for sp/lp would be the joo see hyuk, maze passion, but ytou really need to decide where your strength is and get the blade to fit. I need a good blocking blade so faster blades help.
The clipper is great - my coaching session yesterday went really well, loads of control and good speed for the sp attacks with good control for the lp

I just glued a sheet of Speedy Soft Dtecs, on my Clipper Wood WRB. I will try it tonight.

Too bad I snapped My sheet of Zeta while removing it from the clipper.

So, I tried the Speedy soft dtecs for the first time yesterday. At first I hit all my shots into the net (the throw is much lower than my boost tp) but after a while I started to land most of my shots. Hitting through spin works pretty good, it's very easy to attack long serves and pushes. Agressive blocking was also good, passive blocking and pushing were horrible. When passive blocking all my shots went into the net, and I had a tough time keeping my pushes tight, in fact quite a lot of my pushes were pop ups. Overall I'm pretty satisfied about the performance, I beat my practice partner twice (which was impossible with 2 sided pips) but I need a lot more practice.
