Why there is no discussion of them? They were the master and represented the highest level of this style.
Playing SP must learn from them even they were penholder. :lol:

According Stellan Bengtsson, Chen Longcan generated surprising amounts of spin with his pips and he was the best at this.

He said that to dispel my notion that SP cannot create spinny returns.

Yes, u are right. Chen's loop was quite powerful and much spin which was similar to Pip in loop. His loop in SP was the best. As i know, he was using 889 in Chinese National Team and spinpips in Japan.

Geng's forehand is not SP. At that period, loop is not popular in women. Most of them are fast attack style even with inverted rubber. :lol:

Jiang was a perfect player. A Malaysian friend was coached by Jiang some years ago. He said his serves were extremely heavy.

Quality of video is not that good.
Two SP penhold (single-sided) masters in the 80's: JJL vs Kim Ki Taek.

Interesting that the hidden serves hadn't taken over yet... Rallies were also pretty short compared to today.
