i am now looking for a harder short pip that is easy to hit with and am wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

The Stiga Royal is firmer and much more faster than TU, I find it very easy to control when hitting. I tried it both in 2mm and max and prefer the extra speed of the max

I've just gone from Tango Ultra to Stiga Royal. Both 2mm. Both brilliant SP's to my mind.

Personally I find TU easier to open up with - maybe the softer sponge will take the ball more and allow me to generate more top spin. I used the rubber over the past 5 years with fat balsa blades, the best being a FW+ and this was a great combination.

But with my slower and harder TSP 4.5 there is no question the Royal makes the grade. More punchy yet still very spinny and fast as a bullet. I haven't used it on any other blade but imagine this on anything faster than allround it would be able to crush the ball out of sight. Can't imagine how fast Monkey's max must be.

In summary, I recommend you try Royal - it's an easy switch and I think you'll love how it explodes.

Lethal....
I think the Royal would be a good choice. I tried Monkey's setup a few months ago and it felt very "crisp".

I found Royal much harder and faster than Tango Ultra. I think Clippa would be more similar to JTU or 802-40 with a soft sponge.

I also liked how Se7en played for a spinny short pip. You can get it from Cole in the U.S. or maybe from One of a Kind in Australia.

Spectol 21 may be harder than Tango Ultra (almost everything is) but it is much softer than Royal.

The Spectol 21 sponge is still quite soft... the Spectol speed is the one with the hard sponge.

I think there both pretty good rubbers, perhaps the spectol would be more disturbing than the royal, and the royal is faster.

The royal has a grey sponge which is a medium-hard, same sponge as almana which is why for the cause of its rocket speed.
