In this topic I thought Id post how to use your power and your technique together with strategy.

When you are about to go up against a player in competition it is legal for you to check his/her bat and visa versa. By checking his/her bat you should tell whether he/she has LP or anti-spin or whatever your opponent may have. This is very important as you may lose the opening points of your game only because you did not know the "hidden" qualities of the opponents rubber/bat.

Whilst in the game the first few points are the most important because they determine the outcome, by that I mean that in the first couple of serves you should size up and find your opponents weakness's or strength's. Ordinary weakness's are: Bad serve return, Slow loops, lack of spin and etc. These small things make up 20% of what your next shot should be. Depending on the strengths and weakness's you can choose your style of game. If the person is not a complete genius at looping you may enjoy giving long serves to the FH making them struggle to bring it up, putting the return away as soon as it comes.

If you are losing do not show your pain psycologically (scream, show anger) try to calm down and think which shots are failing you and attempt to change your style as it is obviously not working. Coaching is the psycological key as what your coach says you should do, he says calm down do it, he says lob it, lob it. People from the side line can see more then you can from slightly beyond the table.

In the game when you have strategy, you also have a craving for power, but many people use the power without the technique which damages the whole structure of the game. Strategy lets you use your technique, technique lets you use your power together this lets you win.

Remember never give up, always think what you do wrong and how you can improve and then you will be the best player you can be :)
