I just realised I should add another section to the backhand: advanced backhand counter topspin. The way I describe the backhand doesn't work perfectly on a really high level. I will edit that post this week :)

I have added the advanced backhand counter topspin. I am now writing the push and the serve. Hopefully I will be able to finish that tonight. :)

One extra note for the advanced backhand counter topspin. Most players will never reach the level needed to hit this shot. It is only needed at high speed close to the table counters. It takes a certain level to get those kind of rallies. However, feel free to experiment with this shot (and every other one). It can be a real weapon when used correctly.

The solution is obvious. Use this info and become a better SH player than you ever will be as a PH player :P

You're welcome. I'm still writing stuff, bit it takes a lot of time, time which I don't have at the moment. I am hoping to write something before the end of the week.

I have added some stuff, sorry for the long delay. Next up: serve, and that will be a monster update. :)

Is anyone reading this article? I was hoping for a bit more reactions and some talk about technique in general. :?:

I've found the whole topic to be well written and a great guide, especailly for new players or for those who have not been coached. Since you obviously know more about the correct techniques than I do, I can't offer much feedback, apart from a bit THANK YOU for writing such a great guide!   Looks like a lot of people have read this guide though, with well over 1000 views. I'm not sure how we can give this thread more exposure, so that more people can benefit from it, and perhaps offer some feedback?

Wow, over a thousand views. Hadn't seen that number yet. I have a holiday now so I'm quite keen on finishing this. If I start with school there is no way this will be finished before May.

Still I need someone to write about chopping. I have absolutely no experience with that, and I feel that chopping is also a part of table tennis, and therefore I should write about it. :)

This is quite good....I never realized English wasn't your first language. You speak (or write, anyway) it quite well.

There is a possibility I will be switching to SH. I would like to see something on chopping.....I know that not exactly your thing, but maybe someone else could write a bit that?

I really hope someone could write about chopping. It's absolutely not my style of play, and if I try to chop my blade is just to fast to get some seriously good backspin.
I still have to write the last part, I just can't find the time. I really want to finish this, so maybe next weekend I'll just sit down and write.

If only we had a large population of choppers here at OOAK......they could write it. :P :P hahaha oh well.....i would just kind of like to incorporate chopping into my game a little.
