Updated with the backhand serve. Could someone verify my sidespin story? I have had quite a break from table tennis and I just couldn''t recall enough to be 100% sure about that one.

Yes that sounds fine about the backhand serves. I would probably add that for a backspin serve, if you want more spin, brush at the very bottom of the ball.

Guys, I need your opinion.
I have been taught a new backhand technique yesterday, and imo it's a bit easier to learn. Do you want me to write it down for you, or not? It could make things confusing, so I am in doubt at the moment.

And I have almost finished the forehand serve. Coming up this weekend I hope.

Sure, you could add another BH technique....If you put it in a different heading or something, that would make it less confusing.

Quick question: Is the technique with SP the same as with inverted? Just taking less account for spin?

Hmm, the technique itself could be used, but I doubt it would be very effective. There are SP which can be used to loop with, but flat hitting is a stronger point. You would benefit from a shorter stroke I think to get more speed in your shots.
The second technique would be more useful for you I guess.

I can however give you a short tip: start with your blade at about 45 degree angle (inverted rubber angle, SP might be more open), make sure your blade and wrist are in one line and stretch the arm forwards. The starting point should be at your pants, not lower. Just make sure your action stays smooth and relaxed. Don't try to hit it with power, try to hit it with technique. If you are comfortable you can have a bit of wrist action in the end for more spin, but it firm if you are hitting your backhand.

I hope to start Sunday or Monday on it. I'll first finish the serve segment.

Last years i've been trying to learn how to play defensive (with lp) on my BH. Now I try to learn how to twiddle and use my inverted on BH. This guide has been very helpful for me, There were lots of things I had long forgotten (or never learned) about. CSTT - Thank you so much for you efforts!

You probably can, 2 players can also push shots towards each other. That's also backspin, and a chop is just more backspin.
