in 2007 i saw the v grip mentioned on about.com, very few information were found

but i hate shakehand and penhold while i love ping pong

so the first 6 months of playing with V grip really sucked, my friend said i looked like a retard

i was using some cheap shakehand ready made bat that is 10 dollar total

so went to iruiru and ordered 2 nittaku acoustic tenaly, can see in the picture here:
http://s1099.photobucket.com/albums/g38 ... 111711.jpg

i went through tackyfire, tenergy 05, spin art, mark V, hurricane 3, bunch of LKT and 729, and TG3 on front, with anti spin or tackiness chop in 1.1 sponge on back side

after about 3 years i think the acoustic doesn't give enough speed so i sanded down a yasaka musashi 9mm hinoki jpen and just used spin art on one side, this worked great except musashi is really a lower quality hinoki it doesn't really have the softness

so got 2 yasaka victory special from nexy, these show a lot of promise

after christmas vacation i will try to record a few games, V grip really doesn't have to suck
for now maybe i'll upload how i serve and grip change to backhand

if anyone else play the V grip please leave a message here, if there are no interests i will just keep doing this alone

imo OOAK is #1 table tennis site, helped me through my journey many times and i finally have time to register hehe

I toyed with the V-grip before. It does have an amazing forhand loop if used correctly.

Don't know if you saw the vid, "Worlds Fastest Serve". I will try to find it later. It is done with shakehands but the V-Grip actually makes it eaiser to do.

Banana flicks should be easy also. :)

Here is the vid, Worlds fastest serve.

There was a slo-mo version but it has been removed. Note, he is hitting with the "Backhand side". The V-Grip makes it much eaiser than with shakehands. It is not fake, in the slo-mo version, everything was very clear. :)

Thanks Decoy,
That serve is made for the V-Grip! I have been playing with that serve and it is hard to get the timing right. When it works, it is like magic. You do not have to twist the arm so far with the V-Grip as with shakehands.
Anybody that thinks you can just block or attack a long serve, well, you got to get the bat in front of it before you can do anything with it.
:)
