I couldn't find a good video of this, but I'm sure some of you know what I mean. It's like a regular backhand flip used mainly when receiving short serves, but there's more wrist work and much more of a sideways movement compared to the regular flip.

I find this backhand flip quite deadly and hard to stop... Although the good players that use it may simply be very good at returning, I've found it hard to stop players from using this, even against a variety of serves. Short with very heavy backspin seems to make it hardest for them.
The sideways brushing seems to make it less sensitive to backspin.

Do any of your guys use it, or play against it?

Perhaps learning how to do it myself is a good way to find out which balls are most difficult to do... I'll give it a go.

It means just that, use the wrist to bend backward, face the incoming ball, release by ticking the ball to your desired location. How open the blade and how hard the force is depends mainly how how much the incoming spin and how low the ball bounds.
I use pure wrist for the stroke for all short underspin balls. For longer serves, use a little more forearm combined with wrist forearm will speed the ball up.
