Hello, Im currently playing at amateur TT club and we dont have coach. So I want to ask, how should our Training unit look like. Nowadays we just warm up (forehand/backhand counterhit) and then, for 2 hours or so, play matches. And thats our whole training unit, which is not very good in my opinion.

This is very important to me, as I'd like to start coaching (not only our club members) and also suggest our members how to train and improve.

Thanks for every reply.

I know about drills, but I wanted to know something about the overall structure of the training unit - what it should include.

Here is the PingSkills template. You can adjust to suit your needs. Is that what you're looking for?

Maybe could be. I was looking for that "structure" like in that documents - so I was waiting for answer like: physical warm-up, on table warm up then drills then... etc.

Ahhh warm up about 5 minutes shoulders , legs, back, etc.
cardio for me is optional cause i do my own cardio on different days. ( but include it if you have copious amount of times at hand, like basic jog for 5 -10 mins)
serve practice around 15-30 mins
multiball one hour
lastly maybe around 3-5 games best of 7 with willing participant ( someone u couldnt beat ideally)

All this if you have the time, me myself will do serve practice for one hour on one day and multiball on the other.

I saw a professional training menu before, he went ham on looping against a partner on every stroke with the partner blocking all balls for an hour or so.
then multiball and footwork for one hour too
then lastly he will do duck walks to strengthen the legs maybe 20-30 mins
he'll come back to the resting seatings complaining bout how painful it was everytime haha.
