Sorry for the massive response! :lol:

I think it's mostly the focus part. In twiddling, you tend to go for a committed backhand attack, yes?

But I also think your second reason makes a lot of sense -- it's rather easier to deal and overpower a not-so-spinny, moderate-speed loop (compared to say, an spinny slow one or a rather good power-spin one).

Sorry for the delay but I was waiting for others who used to use invert backhand first to provide their views.

I started twiddling only recently and am still learning the basic of using invert backhand. However, when I did twiddle from LP to invert, the looped balls traveled a lot more faster and more spiny than usual (means using LP), resulting in blocking long. One small problem I still had is the angle of the blade and the timing. Apparently, they are way different, invert requires a lot more close blade than LP and where to contact the ball is also different. Am still adjusting, but if I did it correctly, loop one with LP and the second with invert, the ball will mostly blocked out, it is just the change of pace and spin, screwing up your opponents timing.
