Hello

I am back for a question (Yes I Dare)
I will probably let the long pimple aside and use an anti instead.

I hesitate between the Nitaku Best Anti 2.0mm and a Joola Toni Hold 2.5 (which I will receive for a test)

I now test the Best anti on a Tibhar COS 3 (old generation) and I find it nice.

Who can compare both anti's ?

Blade: Dr. Neubauer Firewall +
FH: Butterfly Tenergy 05
BH: Spinlab Vortex 2.3
To start answering: The NBA is significantly faster than the TH. The former is somewhat better suited for attacking or push-blocking and it is a little slicker. On the other hand, the latter is a little saver. However, the differences are not extreme, altogether.

The Joola Toni Hold Anti is far more difficult to attack with, as it has significantly less grip than the Nittaku, mostly because of the difference in sponge. If you want attacking topspin or no-spin as an option, the Nittaku is a better choice.

I've just received mine for test and the Toni Hold looks like my first anti : black sponge and red pink topsheet.
So it would be more easy to return any serve with the TH but more difficult to attack... it is not an easy choice if I have the same feeling after the test.

Would it be a good idea to test on a faster blade than the Cos 3?
Something like an Hallmark Aurora or a tsp Tocatta?

Thanks

The Toni Hold Anti is mainly for chopping. You can attack a little bit with the 1.5.

really? Can't I use it for a block game close to the table with length and placement variations?

Yes, on the COS3, but you won't get massive reversal, so you'll have to be extremely precise with placement&speed and have good combined tactics with your forehand inverted as well.

I've tried the same rubber on the CO-S-3. It has very good control but my opponents had no problems with it whatsoever.

I am not really looking for reversal, more for something I can do what I want with the ball and for the moment, the long pimple I've tried doesn't allow me do it anymore.

I use the inverted in the forehand but also in the backhand to add more variations of spin and speed.

And what would you advise?
To try it on another blade or you definitely prefer the Best Anti?

Yes, I would go with the Best Anti. It will give you a much better block/counter game. Works well on the CO-S-3 also. ;)

The Toni Hold is a great rubber, but in 2.5 it is very slow without much effect.

Thank you.
I will have a test with both but I already play with the Best anti for 2 trainings cessions and till now, I am better than with my long pimple, more confident, I place better balls, change the lenght, chop and block more easily than with the LP.

Where I have some difficulties is in returning fast serves, I will have to find a solution to avoid being hold in this type of game : fast serve and attacking directly on the return (even if it is often like this on my level)

As the NBA is on my COS 3 (I have only one), I will try the Toni Hold on of of my Aurora :)

Both are good Antis, very shure shopping is possible. The Best Anti is more allround and you can do nearly every strike.
If you hit directly there is no reversal, if you hit tangentially there is some. This allows some winbringing effects.
T.H. is a solid, heavy Anti with which you are able to replay all kind of balls. Very easy to play but not spectacular.
Last season i used T.H. two times and lost.
With Best Anti i have had a good run in the same time, which aprupptly stopped and i don`t know why.
So i changed to meteor 845 ox LP and got much better, but that`s another story.
