Hello!

Im very keen on experimenting with anti-spin rubbers. Im however not fully aware of all of its capabilities and affects so if anyone could explain what it can do would be fantastic.

Thank You!

Hi Levkin,,,
Anti is basically a slippery rubber. It is usually slower than others also. It's advantages are it's ability to ignore spin, reverse spin, and change the pace. It works best for Seemiller grip (my opinion) because I have the option of using it or not. I don't get a weak wing like shakehanders from it. I hit all shots with one side but have the option of anti on the backhand by just rolling my forarm over. I can also twiddle for the forhand.
If you block with it, it reverses the spin. Block a hard loop, the speed comes off and it goes back chop. Push a loaded chop and it goes back topspin. Pop up time!
Receiveing serves is a big advantage. The more spin they give you, the more they get back reversed including side, top or chop.
You can hit with it BUT, if you hit a incomming loop, it sends back chop and the ball will arc UP. So hitting is restricted to a high ball where you have a direct line to the other side. They rarely come back as the fast chop rising ball is HARD to return. You can hit incomming chop as it is turned into top.
You wont find a rubber that gives any better control. I can chop away from the table and put them back just over the net consistantly.
The biggest problem with shake players is they now have a week side. I think pen RPBs could use it to twiddle to advantage.
Most antis are heavy. Can't think of anything else right now. :D

Thank you very much hook! That was very useful just a few questions?

If you hit the ball fast with the FH close to the table will it go over?

If someone hits a heavy or strong loop and you place ur bat there will it reverse the spin?

If its just a normal chop or a ordinary loop does it still reverse the spin?

Blocking with the Seemiller grip is sooo easy. Picture a windshield wiper, (another name for the grip) you just move the bat in front of the ball no matter where. No cross over point!!!
With Anti Special, it reverses just about any shot it is so slippery. You can just stick the bat in front of REAL hard shots and the speed comes off. If people loop at you from off the table, it is easy to just drop it over the net. Since a blocked loop goes back chop, that further slows the ball on the other side.
On chops and slow loops, yes, it reverses spin.
If you hit close to the table, you need "Line of sight" to the other side of the table as top gets turned into chop and the ball arcs "UP", not down.
On spinny serves, you can flick them back and alot will be misread as topspin. The spin will still be whatever he put on in reverse.
Some anti's have some grip. I don't think they are as useful as the BTY stuff. Eaiser to hit with but you lose some of the reverse capability.
If you ever watched the "clipboard" matches, you will have an idea what anti is like. LOL :D
I have modified the Seemiller grip some. I put my first finger on one edge of the blade, thumb on the other. I can loop drive on backhand about as hard as forhand. Don't let people tell you it is week on backhand. I don't use it just like Seemiller does. :D

Hi Levkin,
Check the signatures, most of them are up to date. (except the hardcore EJs) They can't keep them up to date.
Butterfly, Super Anti Special. :D
