der-materialspezialist has set a new standard for playing with ANTI.
NIGHTMARE is a new ITTF certified ANTI TOP rubber which combined following characteristics.

-extrem spin reversal
-excellent disruptive effect
-perfect control
-good attacking options

The new super slow absorbtion sponge slows down the tempo and keeps the ball low in the game.
NIGHTMARE ANTI the new weapon for blocking close to the table with excellent disruptive effect and extrem spin reversal.

Speed: 50

Control: 90

Disruptive effect: 100

NIGHTMARE is ITTF approved from july 2011 and available in red and black, with 1,2mm/1,5mm and 1,8mm absorbtion sponge.

The NIGHTMARE ANTI version with 1,8mm absorbtion sponge is the slowest.

NIGHTMARE ANTI will become on the market at may 2011.

Also 2 new blades will be availabel:

der-materialspezialist TOMAHAWK (all+)
der-materialspezialist WIZARD (all)

Please follow my website: www.der-materialspezialist.com

Thanks best regards

Actually since the LARC has been published, NIGHTMARE is approved for use effective today. Any rubber listed is "valid with immediate effect."

The problem with anti rubbers that relies on reversal always seems to be that the thicker sponge is the slowest (which most blockers seems to want) while the thinnest sponge have the best reversal. Is this the case with Nightmare as well?

msp:No for spin reversal with the NIGHTMARE ANTI its not important.I tried all 3 sponges and did not find a big differnce.
More Important is the blade.Faster blades have more spin reversal than slower but believe me if you like to play with def- spin reversal will be high enough.

Also, my experience with anti have showed that red always have better reversal, while being slightly faster, is this they case here as well?

msp:No for me its the same but could be you are right.
Black rubbers are almost a little bit softer than the red

Any ability to generate spin at all with it?

msp:Try it !

Dampening sponges are often (always?) soft, so they usually provides the option to add some spin on your own, if this is the case, I might be interested in giving the black sheet a go.

msp :Its possible but its not the spone doing this. Its you.

How does this new rubber compare to your gray-market modified Guard?

How does it compare to a Guard that was left in the sun until very slick?

This is his 'tuned' version of gd guard. Pending answer to my question I assume the nightmare will be very similar.

I'm not an 'anti' kinda guy but I must say I'm tempted by this... Also, can one play an anti like chopping LPs? Defense away from the table...

We'll see if the price is right ;)

we don't need another cheap anti that doesn't work for reversal blocking.

It scares me to think how much I might pay for a SuperBlock replacement that works. I doubt if Nightmare gets there but it might get closer than anything else, at least in some ways.

dms is gonna have to cover all startup and approval costs from the sales of one brand of the least popular rubber type. I can't imagine it being cheap. No, I'm not a shill for him, just being realistic.

Nice video! Love the anti attacks against backspin. Yellow Shirt has one heck of a backhand!
