I am doing this simple test and it really works. I have many complete rackets and i did this test to see which has the best reversal and it shows me always the same results. ;)
First I paint a ball a little so I can see the rotation easier
Then I impart a lot of spin with my black rubber and then
a catch the ball with LP on the other side and count how many times it bounces rotating the same direction.
The best reversal the more times it rotates. My best bat rotated
about 10 bounces on the same spinning direction, my worst rotated just 3. :o
It really works for determing the best reversal and or
frictionless LP
Does anyone use that?

One thing that's interesting is that if you do this with Grass D.Tecs, the ball never stops spinning in the same direction, and no, that's not a fairytale, it's actually true.

what about when pips are very soft and they bend producing less reversal....

this is a good rough test but isnt completely accurate to compare pips in my opinion

I have 2 LP very soft : GDT and Twister. The reversal is great althoug they bend a lot because they are very soft.
I compare many LP, rigid and soft and the results are the same.
The best reversal continues with GDT, no doubt about that :o
The test really works for ALL LP, test it and see for yourself ;)

Can you post a list (blade + rubber combination) of your findings? I am curious...

I use the simple version:
spin it up
pop it straight(hopefully) up with the anti/lp
let it land on offensive rubber and guage the effect of spin

This fails for slick anti.
It performs extremely well in this test with light contact and not nearly as well in real play with heavier contact.

I have those bats: Matsushita Pro, Aurora, TT Master Defensive, Dr Neub. Special, and Titan, Stiga Tube Defensive.
LP OX: Palio CK 521 , Insider , Feint Long III , Destroyer , GDT , Twister .
The most reversal = GDT, up to 10 x spinning at the same direction. :o
