i think for all kinds of underspin (lincluding side underspin), you should roll aggressively like this video (using the special Giant Guard Special)

When playing slick anti, for returing serves which i am unsure, i will position or move my bat in the mirror image of the server's bat seriving direction.

i think perhaps to make the best use of Nightmare, one should pair it with his blades. Just my 2cents

Yep, i agree the roll/hit works very well but :
a. it gets tough against short tight balls
b. as a disruption player I hate to have only one reply to a given scenario

By mirror do you mean pulling out to in when he does or pushing in to out when he pulls out to in? I was thinking that continuing the sidespin like a chop block continues top would be the most effective shot. I think that would happen with what you're saying.

You may be right about the blade. the one I'm currently using works considerably better than the others I tried. If money wasn't any issue I'd have his blade(s) and 1.5 and probably a 1.8 sheet.

The anti also drew more errors than I expected. The degree of reversal on light to moderate topspin is definitely not as good as old over-long dtecs or even new legal dtecs or talon. My theory is the 'disruption' comes from the amount of reversal varying between minimal and moderate depending on exactly how you hit the ball with the anti. Right now the variation is entirely accidental but it might be something I need to work on doing intentionally later.

Try using the chop block less and practice making some blocks or counters like you would with an inverted rubber. This creates very flat returns with varying spins or knuckleballs. This is a more dangerous shot against driver-type opponents who don't loop.

Thanks for posting the vids. They are fun to watch. It looks like you are attacking pop ups well with the NM.

By mirror, i mean if the server's bat go from his right to his left, i will move my bat from left to right first, as a variation i will sometimes go from right to left too. I find that it is important to be albe to go down the line or cross court for both shots. I try to make best use of the rubber by being as aggressive as possible right from the start to reduce the reaction time of my opponent to set up easy shots whenever possible to finish off with my inverted (i played with a seemiller grip, no need to steup around to use my inverted...)

hello materialspezialist,

can you give some recommendations on what kind of blades will be suitable for Nightmare beside your own blades?

also can you give some description on your blades and what sort of rubber will be suitable for the forehand rubber?

thank you.

Hi YORI,

NIGHTMARE ANTI is working on evry blade ;) it is to individual to give some references.
Also the sponge thickness is very important.
TOMAHAWK is perfekt with all sponge thickness and it is only 65g!

At August there will come a new combi blade (def+/off-) from me on the market perfect with playing 1,2mm version.
Also I have one off blade under construction which is perfect with 1,5 and 1,8mm NIGHTMARE version.

Its like every time trying by your self will give the correct answer.

Blade: Dr. Neubauer Firewall +
FH: Butterfly Tenergy 05
BH: Spinlab Vortex 2.3
Will the latter one also be a combi (asymmetric) blade?
