I havent tried tibhar defence 40,but
Spinlord Marder is a very nice rubber!! Grippy but not tacky. 5 out of 10 in speed and 9-10 in spin.
Rather spininsensitive...http://www.ttdd.de
Sorry my first url was wrong...
If you want a little more speed,a soft globe is a good idea...

Cheers
Geddk

Tibhar Defense 40 is manufactured as a rubber that should be able to produce a smuch spin in chops and soft loops as was possible with the 38 mm ball - which means an afwul lot of it. It is completely without tack, but very grippy. If yours is incapable of producing spin, it must have been treated very badly, as even worn-out rubbers still have quite some grip. But perhaps you are using a stroke which would work with tacky rubbers, not with untacky ones. The sponge of this rubber is very thin, too, which requires good technique in chopping.

It's pretty grippy with a somewhat dampening sponge. The 1.6mm (thickest version) works great with springy balsa blades like the Dr. Neubauer Firewall Plus.
