What is a good cheap anti? I tried the friendship 729 804 Anti Spin but its not a very good anti and the sponge is too thick. So whats a nice blocking anti, for returning serves, blocking, pushing and hitting the ball from time to time?

the thing is that long pip really messes up my game after a little bit of playing with them i dont use my fh and it just limits my game greatly, i use mp right now and want an anti not to take advantage of the reversal or the wobble its just to cover up my weak backhand, so i pass on the LP.

Why don't you just spend some time practicing and improve your BH? Using equipment to cover weaknesses is just a band-aid solution which will catch up with you as soon as you try to take the next step in standard.

i tried at first when i started playing it just doesn't match up with my style my strokes are different, and i don't like the feel. plus if im going to have a slow rubber on my BH might as well make it pip or anti, and i really use the pip well, smooth not so much.

Sir, is it for control or massive reversal?
Yasaka Anti Power is really easy to use for blocking close to the table combined with ball placement.
However, the reversal is not that great for an anti.

I also believe its rather cheap compared to some antis.

I has had played with yasaka anti before it is actually very good anti its controllable, but reversal is indeed pretty low. Right now im looking at getting Giant Dragon Guard, or Guard Special, Ill most likely get Special because from what i heard Guard is really heavy :( Does any one know what hardness is the sponge on guard Special???

Guard Special has a dampening sponge, rather hard, but catching the ball nonetheless. If it is reversal you are after, go for something else, for there is practically none with this anti. It is an attack anti, fast, highly controllable, but too grippy to bother good players.

If you could specify your exact needs, giving advice would be easier... But in general, if you want the anti for receiving serve without problems and block/attack in an allround/attack game, the cheap ones suitable for this have very little to no reversal and you have to pay for the good stuff: Juic, Nittaku, Yasaka, Stiga. If you want it for defense and push-attack-by-reversal, there is no real good or cheap alternative for Neubauer anti's. If you want it for chopping/attacking, you could use the Guard Special (or the Guard), but Tibhar Ellen Def would be better and still rather inexpensive. Actually, the Juic and Nittaku anti's work for that too. So a good and safe (but not cheap) choice would be Juic Neoanti in 1.5, or the Tibhar Ellen in 1.5. The very cheap Chinese anti's (Friendship 804, Meteor 835) are not regular anti's, but half-anti's, meaning that they will not reverse spin, but neutralize it more or less (you still have to read it and do the right thing), and are good to hit with, but less good for chopping.

Thank you soo much Kees very good suggestion, ill try to get Guard Special as my coach says i should be more aggressive and attack with my BH more, and if i dont like the reversal i could always put it under UV lights.
