I've never seen this rubber, can anyone post a pic of this waffle-like structure?

Now that's putting some spin on recent events, ironically enough. :)

This is bizarre. They must've missed a payment or something - as far as I heard, the consensus on this rubber was that it was nothing special in terms of anti spin and certainly not worth the price tag. Maybe the ITTF was worried about companies making friction rubbers with a similar surface?

Well, opinions largely divert on this matter…

This is just f***ing ridiculus.
For the nth time I settle on a rubber and the ittf**ers take it away,
super block , friction special, insider, dtecs(that was mostly the company's fault though), now timeless.

I think I just passed notBob in the persecution index.

If you like Beast hope that I don't like it cause if I do it'll be illegal in '14

I might as well settle on blatantly treated 10 dollar pips. It least I know in advance that's illegal and it's cheap.

Dear Flemming,

thanks for your mail.
ITTF will announce revised Technical Leaflet and with this revising rubber Timeless would not be approved any more. It´s bad news for you and us as well but we can´t sell it unless it´s ITTF approved. You can still use Timeless this end of the year (perhaps few Months longer) but than it will not be ITTF approved rubber any more.

If you have any other questions, don´t hesitate to ask me.

Are we assuming that the ITTF Technical Leaflet that Rade Markovic referred to is the banned pips list? I reviewed the current ITTF LARC and it contains no description of itself as a Technical Leaflet so I have to assume Markovic wasn't referring to an upcoming LARC.

With the price of the rubber, I think few good souls will be affected. I just felt sorry for them after investing money and time on adopting to this rubber.

bcbcbc, I got burned on all the rubbers above, too. I think you had Supernova also.

Disgraced ITTF President Adham Sharara and his corrupt Equipment Committee are beneath contempt. This isn't "ITTF bashing" by the way, THIS IS A FACT.

Technical leaflets are definitely not the same as LARCs

I assume what they've done is create a definition of what counts as a smooth(inverted or anti) rubber with some objective numbers in it.
What a competent organixzation would have done BEFORE approving timeless

I don't remember exactly how but I'm pretty sure I somehow happend to not buy a sheet of supernova between approval and non-approval.
It was definitely on my must-try list for a while.
I did use Super Defence briefly after it passed the first friction test but then mysteriously dropped off the next LARC.

Hi Guys

I bought Super Block, Inferno,Super Nova, Insider, Old DTecS and Timeless. I am still contemplating AP from Neubauer and/or The Beast.

If I keep contemplating and not actually buying I will be fine!!

Bulldog

If I have this straight ittf has warned Joola not to produce this rubber any longer.
They have NOT warned players not to buy it from retail stock.
Show's who they think is important and who are just suckers to be screwed at will.

Kudos to Joola if they are already refusing to sell sheets they have on hand.
Or are they only explaining why they have no new stock?
