my two cents: the ittf handbook only prohibits chemical or other "treatment" of sheets. treatment should only refer to the alteration of the properties of a sheet = changing the properties, otherwise the rule would make no sense. since the cleaner doesnt make the slick anti slick all of a sudden (it was slick before) it doesnt change the properties. its the same with all other inverted rubber cleaners which also clean the surface of the sheet and make the rubber more grippy again (the inverted was grippy before).

So using on anti is legal but on ,for example long pip is illegal because in long term it will change its properties.Agree with you but one point more...what about Spinmax.I am sure this Spinmax make inverted rubbers especially tacky ones more grippy. But it is legal.

The Spinmax is a godsend for me,1.5 years old Tenergy still spins the ball well ,would have had to get a new sheet if not for this.It does put a mild tack on the rubber but there`s no way I`ll pay out for a new sheet just to avoid that...Spinmax tip.keep it in the fridge to make it last longer(much less evaporation)

The only real rule is this:
2.04.07 The racket covering shall be used without any physical, chemical or other treatment.

All the other documents are simply clarifications and interpretation, which have little power since the local referee will make the interpretation for your events, and their decision is final (even if it's wrong!).

Basically if the cleaner only cleans or restores the rubber, and does not change it significantly, it's legal. If it does change it significantly it's technically not legal. Of course if you do use a cleaner that does do a little more than clean, no-one will know unless they saw you use it or if it has high VOC level that have not evaporated enough to be picked up by an ITTF detection device.
