Presumably a rubber which will be a rival to B.A.D? Very interesting.

This rubber now available and described on the Dr Neubauer website. Early comments from members on the Noppentest forum seem to suggest good levels of control and spin reversal.

i knew i woud be crucified on noppentest for making a review, since the company "der-materialspezialist" uses me for their frictionless anti videos and it wouldnt take long till people would claim that i was biased, so i refrained from posting a review there people tend to be less emotional here so i will give it a try, especially reminding people that i was using dr.neubauer killer on my forehand in the past and wrote positive reviews here, so possibly i might be objective after all..

buffalo is faster than beast, but slower than bad/spinparasite/gorilla. a few users on noppentest claimed that the sheet has less friction than for e.g bad, i would claim the exact opposite. due to the high trajectory (and possibly to the fact that the sheet has a bit more grip ?) it is possible to attack no spin balls rather easily.the spinreversal is very noticeably less than either BAD, spinparasite, gorilla or beast..so noticeably different that my training partner was looping the ball over the table continuously because he was surprised about the lack of reversal, after having player the previous 50 minutes against my usual slick anti. my experience with ABS is so far back that i cant compare them, other than that buffalo provides better control when blocking with less "angle dependency".

buffalo is easy to control, however that is primarily due to a high ball trajectory...its like beast but probably even a bit higher, the difference being that blocks tend to get shorter with buffalo which is a good thing. but with better players the lack of high spinreversal in combination with high trajectory is a problem, as the opponent can easily perform a hard loop to a point. the only area where the sheet tends to have a problem with control is loops with little or no spin as someone on noppentest also has suggested, in this instance the high trajectory backfires.

You tried to get the anti smoother, probably than there will be more spinreversal. I guess there is a big variation of the smoothness by the dr neubauer produktion (also read noppentest.de), like by the ohter Antis from him.

So I finally had a chance to play with the new Dr. Neubauer Buffalo anti (1.2mm sponge, red) yesterday for 2 hours with my coach. To me it is the best Neubauer anti for playing on an Off blade which I like for my forehand attack. Here are my impression of yesterday's session in comparison to ABS 1.2:

- Buffalo is slower than ABS and easy to control on an Off blade (BTY Schlager Light in this test)
- Spin reversal is better than ABS (which is already quite good)
- Easy to attack underspin
- aggressive push on an Off blade is quite good and disruptive
- Easy to block short with
- I could still return or block hard shots which went long with ABS

AA mentioned a high throw for Buffalo on blocks but I did not feel that it was a big problem and I was able to block short and low (but I am used to ABS); this is just a matter of adjusting blade angle. I have decided to replace the Dr. Neubauer ABS with the new Buffalo which allows me to move to an Off blade without loosing any control.

I actually recorded a couple of practice games last Saturday but not specific backhand practice/drills with Buffalo. I uploaded the video to my YouTube channel "AntiRules". I will try to post the link later but I am here at work where YouTube is blocked.
I think I'll try to do another video next weekend with specific drills with Buffalo.

I had a chance to try this rubber on a Dr N Phenomenon blade. Very impressive!

The sheet feels very slick to me, but when I push the ball, I could keep it very low.

Blocking loops was effortless and with some spin reversal and it took the pace off very well.

Even chopping against loops was very controllable, and the backspin builds up every chop.

Attacking backspin or no-spin balls was very to doing it with Dtecs OX, so it dod not take me much adjustment.

The only thing I could not get working was aggressive pushing against backspin.... I don't think the reversal was enough to keep it on the table.

All in all, it's the easiest to use slick anti that I've tried.

A bit of a 'side-swipe' from left to right seemed to work well for me. This does not give you that much speed, but when well directed it can still be very effective.

This anti must be good. I read that Dr. Neubauer won the O70 singles at the European Veterans Championships using it. I believe this is his first major singles championship since the Super Block days.

Dr. Neubauer's setup:

Blade: Dr.Neubauer World Champion
Forehand: Dr.Neubauer Killer 1.5mm
Backhand: Dr.Neubauer Buffalo 1.2mm

I'm going to give it a try.
