Post subject:  Anti-curious. What anti should I try?

I'm too old to be running around chasing balls, chopping etc..... Thought about trying anti....to block and play a little more aggressively at the table. Been using OX lp on the back hand for about 4 years.....

I AM going to try it so I'm wondering about brands, sponge thickness, best blades to use etc. I'll stick with it for a while so I'd like to bypass the "buy the cheap stuff to see if you like it" conversation. I'll dive right in and try to figure it out...as I did with LP (with the generous, indispensable help of OOAK forum members)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and tips!!!!

The recently released Dr N Buffalo seems like a nice and easy transition to Anti. I had no trouble using it coming from Dtecs OX, and it felt quite easy to use and effective. There is a recent thread on it here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27764

I agree with what haggisv said and I did just post a test report on the Buffalo:

Is anti "blade dependent" like LP (ox)....?

I would say it is to some extent but I also believe that a lot of people seem to over exaggerate it. My advice would be to use the same blade you have been using with lp first if you want to test anti. Generally stiffer carbon blades work well.

Thanks 2 you both......

Is the Hercules blade worth the money and would it work with the Buffalo?

Yes it is a great blade and worth the money. I played with it and ABS on bh for over 2 years; I believe it would work well with Buffalo too as it generally works well with frictionless anti. I actually wrote a review on the blade:

@treetop: did you end up giving the Buffalo and maybe on the Hercules a go?

I ordered Buffalo. I also ordered BAD.

I'll wait on the blade....although I was tempted to buy the Hercules. I'm also interested in the Phenomenon...largely because of teh price point.
