For heaven's sake. After over a week off with illness I got to use the NBA on a Dr Neubauer Hercules with Donic Bluefire M2 max in black on the forehand side. I played really well although it was doubles. I just loved the control and spin I got out of the forehand side and after many weeks playing with Spinpips I was able to use the anti to good effect.
Now what to do?

this is the new type in 1.8 and 1.3
some people still have the old type thats years old and slower.
the new type is slower than juic neo, yasaka anti power and tibhar ellen defence.
i have tried ellen defence in 1.5.i had best anti in 1.8mm on the other side when i was having a knock with debater.we both agreed that best anti was slower(debater will deny it to annoy me or play the cant remember card )
Bulldog is also enjoying this in 1.3
a guy also contacted me on e bay and explained that he had just won a premier player who he had never beaten before-he has just started using 1.3

The old one may not even be legal anymore. Manufacturers are slowly updating the rubbers with numbers displayed on the rubber, which I assume makes the old one (without those details) technically illegal. It's unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate for those with old rubbers) that the ITTF does not show the pictures of the logo on the rubbers anymore, the old old site had these details, the new ones does not (yet).

Here is a useful comparison of the different antispin rubbers: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12988

^cheers
I should mention that with the right blade and nba in 1.8 you can hold the table(meaning play off the bounce)with the majority of power loopers.if this tactic doesnt cause problems i suggest moving back to chop .the right blade in my opinion is the defplay senso(non balsa).
i have tried the following blades with nba in 1.8
primorac-too fast
grubba all plus -too fast
grubba pro-decent but not perfect-worth a try
white spot-didnt like the throw angle-too high-not as slow as expected
stiga allround classic-too fast
kung fu-pretty good-seemed slightly faster than the defplay
i really need to try the NBA on a stiffer blade though
i will be trying the grubba variant soon.

Agreed. I had a knock with antipip too who used anti-spin on both sides very effectivley. Even though the Ellen is described as the "defense" version, he found it quicker than expected and certainly quicker than the anti-spin he was using at the time.

I think it was JOOLA Toni Hold Anti - the old version, not the new which from memory I think he said played noticeably faster than the old version.

Finally decided on my setup reflected in change of profile and signature.
Control, control, control.
The Nittaku Best Anti in 1.3mm is a great choice for the plastic ball.

DAMN-I was hoping you were going to sell it to me lol
I think i will buy 1.3 soon.Im confused about my f/h at the moment but i cant see me moving away from best anti at all.
A few people on other forums play the 1.3 on faster blades and attack with it.Ive heard that the 1.3 is very good for chopping away from the table.

Lost one or two silly matches because the NBA is difficult to attack with. Pros and cons however as I am very slowly recovering my ranking by winning the majority of my matches at a slightly lower level and regaining confidence.
Going to play summer league.

ive been playing 2mm in 4 leagues, the secret is to chop with it.this causes problems.
managed 50% in div 1 (d)
ill be about 37% in div 1 (s)hard league.
i was blocking a lot off the bounce in the early winter season.ive started chopping more and my results are better.

I agree and I am going to endeavour to block less and chop block and chop more.
