Post subject: | Anti Experimenting - Deadening sponge with surface grip? |
Back to tinkering a bit with rubbers... are there any anti spin rubbers (or LP) that have a deadening sponge to slow down the pace, but with a bit more grip than the der mat mega-block/transformer types? I tried using feint long 3 in 1.3mm, and it worked well for attacking back spin which is my primary purpose when using LP/anti. I don't like to play them too passively unless I'm forced to. But with feint long 3... the blocks are not very good, and due to the low reversal/deadening effect, they often float long unless I can manage a quick chop block. And my problem with the mega block is dead balls or low top spin balls. Not a lot of control when attacking those, but when attacking backspin -- woo baby! I guess for the medium, the rubber will not reverse the spin too much but rather give back something closer to a deadball or slight reversal. Any antis like that? I've not tried any of the Dr N rubbers. |
