Got done testing out a black 1.0 diabolic -- using my blocking/attacking at the table and chopping off the table style, it didn't seem much different from mega-block or transformer. I'm sure there are some differences... diabolic is the most Dr N-like that I've seen from MSP. It's got the 'shiny' surface and feels smoother, with a slighter stiffer feel.

Play wise, didn't really notice anything too big. I think it's like with tenergy 05, 64, 80, 25/bluefire 01 02 03/rasant/etc. where the rubbers are all in the same class, and one isn't really better than another or anything too vastly unique from the next. I can play with tenergy 05 and if you give me tenergy 64, I won't play differently at all.

Can't speak to the longevity, though the rubber did "appear" cleaner after the practice session in comparison to what my MB usually looks like.

would love to know what they are talking about. Seems like they are comparing the anti to an LP. The guy with the LP has crazy skills.

guys have obviously not seen any videos of how to play with friction-less anti...

they are blocking the balls after spin with a chop block move that you need to do when you are playing with ox lp, and to get that nasty underspin that we all love, with fanti you need to do the opposite...

edit: oh they figure it out eventually in the end...

With old plastic ball, you are correct. With ABS-ball I think that might be the best blocking style to get some back spin on opponents side.

Was thinking the same thing as I was watching the guy with the LP's. My goodness.

I wonder what LP he is using.

They are really good. They tested Transformer a while ago, that clip is in the Transformer-thread. From the same youtube-channel I remember this test of Grass D.TechS, fabulous:

If that's the case, why not just use LP?! If you have to chop-block, may as well add a bit of spin to it?

There is no LP as slow as Mega Block or similar frictionless antis. Otherwise no reason. LP players is not nearly as much affected by the ABS-ball as Fanti-players are.

Hmm, there is an active "Death Metal TT" thread over there... Am I missing out on the exciting TT subculture?
