what is the best anti spin rubber for passive blocking with the highest reversal against topspin? Thanks The Pimpleking |

DMS Mega Block for me. The shortest block which is very hard to attack again because of good reverse and dead slow short ball. It is no so effective with new ABS balls. |

Thanks for the reply, yes I have read this mega block is good. Would you say the surface is frictionless? And which blade or thickness is best, I prefer to use an offensive blade as I loop a lot. Thanks Pimpleking |

More reversal comes from faster blades. But it depends on how you like to block. Mega-block is good for control and short blocks, with great reversal. It is one of the slowest rubbers out there. If you want something that rebounds faster and does longer, quicker blocks... something like dms diabolic in 1.0 would be a good fit. Mega-block in 1.5 or 1.0 is a good place to start in my experience. It is frictionless, yes. The ball will just spin on the rubber as it would on a piece of glass basically. |

Thanks very much, this sounds like the one for me to try! Will report back soon. Thanks Pimpleking skilless_slapper wrote: More reversal comes from faster blades. Mega Block is very blade-dependent. It works great with Revolution (DMS) but with so many other blades. It is the slowest there is I think, but I would say that Transformer has better spin reversal. Probably Diabolic as well. But Mega Block is a great place to start, a tubber that is very easy to control and spin reversal is enough for most players. |

That is interesting thanks, I think Transformer might be a bit on the fast side for what I am looking for (based on videos I have seen), will give mega block a go and will post up a review video when I get in few days. certainly the speed is a factor as I will be playing decent level. I was using mega block on the innershield zlf, mainly for a Liu song style. Forehand attacks and chops with some rare backhand action. For serve return it worked well, being able to ignore the spin and place the ball wherever I wanted at low speeds. And some chopping during the rally. But yes, very slow and not all that effective for a mean blocking game. I've since put on my .6 gorilla sheet and man, even on the innershield blade it is quite fast! Not as much spin reversal but it can add a bit more when chopping. My wrist problem flares up when chopping on the backhand, which is why I use the anti so I can keep the wrist stationary for blocks and such. Ideally I'd have the innershield forehand and a garaydia zlc backhand! That's why I'm trying gorilla because I need the extra speed on blocks. |
