I have one blade with Neo Anti on it and short pips on the forehand it is a real Long pimple killer as the pimple player gets no spin
It is a great rubber much better in red than black

Speedplay, are you using 1.5 or 2.0mm ? I wonder how much this changes the playing characteristics?

Compared to regular inverted, how heavy is this rubber?

Hoey I know Speedplay is using it in 2mm. I think he has only used 804 in 1.5, but not 100% sure about that.

I wonder which would be better for chopping? (I'm guessing 1.5) We need someone who has been playing long enough to have chopped with anti!

It chops very well with 1.5mm, I've tried it, but it;s not as deceptive as LPs. Since the sponge is so soft and dead, I would expect chopping with 2.0mm would work well too, as as speedplay mentioned, should allow you to generate a bit more spin and variation...

Wow, interesting speedplay, sounds like there's quite a difference.... which is good and bad, depending on what you want... You might be right though, it may change a little over time...

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I thought it better to do this than starting a new one :)

I'm really after any tips anyone can give with regards to playing with anti (particularly Neo Anti). As you may be aware from my recent posts, I've put a sheet of this onto my spare blade and will be practicing tonight for the first time. I've always been a pips player and this is the first time I've tried an anti such as this. I did try a BTY anti when I was quite young and have developed my game a lot since then, so it's going to be very interesting!

Obviously, like most people on here, since the frictionless ban, I've been looking for a replacement and have tried all sorts. Gorilla, Grizzly, Monster, etc. Finally, Dingwol kindly recommended Insider to me and it's been the best replacement so far! I can control spin, block and pretty much play the defensive aspect of my game as I did before. However the difference now is that when I block, I'm not reversing spin, I'm simply killing it. Plus, my control with Insider is still somewhat questionable. This is why (after a recommendation), I'm trying the Neo Anti.

In fact the more I think about it, I'm still playing frictionless stokes. Currently I take all spin serves on my pips, push the ball about (which is still erratic), but I never hit with it. If I need to hit, I twiddle and loop. I've never been able to hit with pips and in games, I play it safe and hit with the side I'm comfortable with. I also aim to block any loops with my pips and then attack their return ball if it's on.

I never considered Anti rubbers before as I always used to enjoy the spin reversal that frictionless pips gave. However, with the ban, I'm having to move away from this style and adapt my game. Control and deception are the most important things to me and I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on this with regards to the Neo Anti (or any anti for that matter).

Thanks :)

One of the stroke mechanics thing I'm trying to unlearn is using to forward an action. I find with anti the elbow needs to stay close to the body, more as in the normal inverted 'drive' position, and work your shots from there.

Like you am relearning hence my request for any Jens Gester vids people may have links to

It it more difficult to return serves with the Neoanti than other antis, "speedplay" wrote that it was more sensitive to sidespin than SB.
Does anyone have any experience with this ?

The neoanti has some grip when you dig the ball into the very soft sponge... advantage is you can put some spin on the ball, disadvantage is it's more sensitive to spin... However if you make only very light contact, it's quite insensitive to spin...

How does the Neoanti compare to Stiga energy absorber ?
That is the only antirubber I have tried - It is quite dead and hard and therefore difficult to use in my oponion.
Have someone tried both ?

Energy Absorber is generally considered to be one of the less interesting antis. Plus I found it to be heavy. The Neo Anti is pretty popular and definitely more versatile.

Currently using it for the past 2 weeks in 1.5mm, on a slow blade.
Very soft and dead sponge, works well for chopping and chop blocking and although reversal is not the same as lp, its reliable and has better control.
You can loop the ball but hitting is not too good.

I have it in black and in 1.5mm, I like it as the bh is more stable and more control.

I want to stick on some other anti that I have lying around and give'em a try, I have a sheet of superanti but in 1.2mm and in 1.9mm and I have a sheet of 804.

I also have a sheet of black meteor coming to me since a few have found that it is quite slow...
I am planning on experiment on this long pip though and bake it in the sun for a month and try it out in comp's, and see what happens.

Can someone explain to me why NeoAnti comes with a Rubber Protection sheet?
