Hi dudes,

I was wondering how the flanti rubbers are being treated. I have a good idea about long pips, but not how they do it to antispin

I now some people use sillicon spray, but thats only temporary. Still websites out there are selling them, but they don't tell what they do to the rubbers

Somebody out there who knows?

I don't mean clean.

Oh, then I do not know.

Though I think it is impossible to permanently alternate the topsheet. After a while it is going gain grip, so you would have to do the cure time after time.

Putting the bat anti side up on the dashboard of your car in the sun will alter it. Permanent. :)

Dude, why do you need to treat a flanti? It is already frictionless from the factory. People treat grippy long pips and make them frictionless so they completely change the properties which is cheating. Somebody here mentioned a DMS product to keep it clean and slick and on modern flantis the dampening sponge is done long before the top sheet.

I've tested a lot of products to clean the antispin from dirt (Acrylic cleaner, anti static tv cleaner, dms cleaner) and so far so good the best one (but sadly the most expensive one :headbang: ) is the DMS cleaner by far. Not only it cleans from dirt and hmidity, it seems to revigorate the glanti aswell.

Some glantis need cleaning more often than others. DMS/Barna glantis scratch very easily and dirt from the ball tends to get easily on those scratches therefore giving some grip to the glanti. Neubauer glantis don't scratch at all (at least the abs series), it is rather impressive.

Right now, I'm using an anti-static tv cleaner to remove the dust and dirt from my glanti and then apply a product from a small company you can find on the german forum to revigorate the glanti. He doesn't want to tell what is the composition but I suspect it is some kind of artificial oil (more or less the same you use for blades, shavers, metal instruments...)

When I used the DMS anti rubbers I used their cleaner, it did seem to extend the life. Now that I'm using Dr N ABS3 I've just been wiping it with the same thing I clean my Tenergy 19 with, a Butterfly rubber cleaner. I'm not sure how the ABS 3 would react to whatever is in the DMS formula.

Doug, I never tried the DMS cleaner on ABS3 or any other ABS type rubber I used but people in the German Noppentest forum were saying that it doesn't work on there Dr. N antis probably because their surfaces are quite different. Funny that you are back to anti and I play LN at the moment...

Can try a light coat of hairspray, however the more humid the playing conditions are, the quicker the effects will wear off

Haha Matt that is pretty funny! Good to hear from you. I will be sure to avoid trying the DMS cleaner on the Dr Neubauer rubbers in that case.
