I looked for a thread about this but couldn't find one. Is DMS Diabolic Special frictionless?

I've seen some incredible forehand attacking strokes being performed that I didn't think was possible with Glanti. The Glanti backhand attacks I understand better.

Thanks for your help.

Forehand Glanti attack starts in the video at about 4:42

I have been playing with Diabolic Special for a few months, and it is a lot of fun. You can attack with it, especially against underspin balls, but for topspin balls, the racket angle has to be perfect. On attacking strokes, it is a bit like playing with hardbat. Blocking is typical FLanti. Pushing is effective, though occasionally the ball seems to slip and fall off the rubber, so a bumping stroke is more effective.

Yassun in the video has exceptionally good touch, and his ability with this rubber is hard to duplicate. There are several more good videos abut this rubber on that WRM Youtube channel.

Yes, Yassun's ability to play with any rubber easily is amazing, such soft touch.

That upwards chop block so far is one of my most consistent shots right now besides pushing.

I have one more tournament in a few weeks, then I can take six months off and perfect my game, twiddling with Glanti is amazing!

I can't seem to get the feel of blocking with the glanti, I need more drills.

Thanks for your response.

There seems to be a shortage of this rubber on the market, even DMS website is sold out. Does that make it really good or really rare lol.

Whether it's due to high demand or limited production, the shortage of this rubber may indeed contribute to its appeal.

Could be due to very low demand that they don’t order often/more.

WRM promotes this a lot and may contribute to it being out of stock often.

Marcus playing with it ! Interesting to see he picked this one instead of Super Glanti attack in this match. Or maybe it is an old video only uploaded now ?

I think I got the last two sheets of DMS Diabolic Special; everyone seems to be sold out.

I hope DMS produces more.

It is a new video. He used Diabolic ES on Triumph because it is good for attacking Gustaf's back spin and long pimple knuckleballs and it can still keep the ball low and short. Against such a player maximum spin reversal is not important (Super Glanti has more spin reversal). Diabolic ES has the same top sheet as Diabolic Spezial, I think only the sponge differs (the top sheet may be a bit harder on Spezial).

Thank you for the information ! It seems I read it wrong I thought he was using diabolic special but it was Diabolic ES

diabolic special uses the SG yellow sponge and Diabolic ES uses Scandal sponge, topsheet is the same but as you said topsheet can differ in hardness like the different version of SG

My first training session with the Diabolic Special.

This video is more for the hackers out here like me.

I've played since I was eight years old but never over 2003 USATT and currently rated 1811.

I hope more experienced Glanti players can give me some hints; I realize most of my techniques are crude, but I'm making progress.

I spent too many years playing with LP's, and I'm having trouble remembering not to close the face of the racket, those missteps are glaring!

The space is limited but I am not moving enough, nor I am getting low enough in my stance.

I hope this is not too painful to watch.
