Thanks Richard,

It's your R1/Tango Ultra rig that impress' me the most. I tried short pips early and decided I didn't have the shot accuracy for flat hitting. I'm almost temped to try them again now that my skills have improved, as it's a deadly style when played well.

BTW, Hallmark's new Friction Special (hint, hint) looks like it is around the same speed as Super Block (ie rated half way in speed between Super Special & Orginal Red), or maybe slighlty slower.

Cheers.

Can't believe that cheap shot, Shoebox! Still resisting.

Well the R*1 impresses me on forehand. It's an absolute corker. You should give short pips a try again. Tango Ultra will really surprise people because you can spin the ball a lot, particularly on serves. It's soft and fast, particularly on this blade. If only I had the time to practice with that ox backhand. Maybe Friction Special is the answer......No !

I'm in Sydney Australia.

Playing style - up at the table. Controlled attack style mostly, but happy to be fairly defensive or all-out aggressive depending on the opponent. Good at putting a lot of spin on the ball and varying it. Very good at placement and thinking under pressure. Lousy footwork.

Level - I play in the main Sydney competition at Homebush in the top division where I win about 60% of my matches. I have played on and off since about the age of 9 and played in State teams many times, before a long (10 year) break after suffering tendonitis. I'm now 48.

I work in IT.

Other hobbies - I play Badminton competitively and like computer games.

I found the forum via the online shop which I found while looking for equipment for people at work.

Currently using a custom blade from Visse with 37 degree Saviga on the forehand (with EE2) and 2mm Couga on the backhand.

Jevansau,

Did you get your tendonitis primarily from keyboard work or TT?

Primarily tt, but probably a combination of tt, badminton and keyboard. I was playing a lot of tt, was in the badminton state squad and mostly doing programming work so a lot of wrist usage, but it flared during a tt tournament during a final. Stupidly I kept trying to play after having it strapped. Won that final but then could not do anything with my right hand for nearly 6 months.

Why not? To please you here I am.
I am from Belgium, this small country, administrative center of Europe.

I am 32 years old and I began around 17 years ago, I don't really remember when.

I work in a small society as office manager. This title, as my boss said, doesn't mean anything, I am just responsible for orderprocessing and a part of the organisation of the team. We are juste a small team but our society have several societies in Europe and out of Europe too.

I studied to become a teacher in Dutch and English but stopped at the end of the last year to begin to work.

I have no perfect style of play, it depends on the racket I have. For the moment I am trying several rackets with antispin or LP.

Something else?

Hi evyone. :D

my real name is Urner. Yuna is the japanese version. 33 this yr living in Singapore, East Coast.
i started playing ping pong during secondary school and got singles 2nd runner up in da inter-house tt competition.
nothing spectacular cos its within the school. was a c-penholder den. started playing again for abt 1 yr ago & converted to a shakehander
abt 8mths back cos of weak penhold BH. dun wanna twist my bones out of shape as well.. hahaha

my style is 2 wing quick attack smashing driver type. tats why the lighter setup plus chinese FH drive friendly rubber
i emulate Wang Liqin as much as i can cos i'm as tall as he is & i like his style too. i dun have a coach & improve by imitating, experimenting & asking around

i'm a young private futures trader (still gaining experience) cos i dun enjoy working in companies & have no flair for business.
once i have achieve the consistency tat i want, i intend to travel around da world while trading via internet.
quite curious abt the tt community in Japan ( i hv an auntie there. heh heh) & Australia as well. i might jus drop by & visit u guys for a game or two.. :D

besides tt, i like japanese language & stuff (anime, drama, music), ps2, keeping fish, fishing, mtb, understanding trading psychology, studying trading systems

:D i not tat good wz japanese yet. but with some effort & references i usually can guess the idea behind the sentence.

i got JPLT level 4 which is rather basic. there's level 3, 2 & 1, being the highest.
the japanese view of competency is reverse in number compare to the western side. strangely interesting

ano.... *sweat* i cant say tat i like financial management like those u study in University.
i enjoy studying but not academically for exams & i'm pretty average grade as well.
i am not even a graduate to begin with. tats also partly why i choose to climb a different mountain
cos i have no advantage in the corporate ladder game laced wz crappy politics (inevitable)

would rather play ping pong, take my slack afternoon naps & trade at nite (US mkt) Life is Great !! :D

i'm more of a chartist in trader terms. specialising in price psychology & using discretional Technical Analysis for my trading decision.
A daytrader, simply put. i'm still learning abt this most complicated subject tat i have ever come across besides girls (for me....at least. haha! )

Hey! its really delightful reading ur postings, Der_Echte !! they never fail to make me laugh!

Yuma, you would probably like my rants on why the US FED chairmain is the biggest bullshitter on the planet, even more so than the US president.

I like how you put your things in perspective. No, although I have been known to be able to crack a book, I like to keep it real - real practical. If you are into physics, then JKC is da man. You will definately enjoy the jokers on this forum. You might keep some of us on our toes as well.

I like Physics, but I like Maths more. I also like chess and used to have nose bleeds when I was little, but I am not a nerd honest.

:o Harrow thar! :o Wow it took me a while to find this place. This seems to be THE place for equipment analysis and general coolness/australianness.

My search for answers in the dawn of the post-glue era--a search yielding only more questions--led me here.

oh and comet++ = fatcomet = mike
