@shoebox - the anti special is faster and grants less control.. as far as i know, anti special and gorilla are both a tad bit more slippery on the surface (less friction) and thus potentially could grant more spin reversal, but i didnt experience any relevant difference when it came to that..

Glad to see you guys are still going strong though. mynamenotbob is still testing every new rubber like crazy, Speedplay is still using semi-anti, Mr Black & several other European's are still here which is very nice. Hookshot has switched to Shake!???

Speedplay, speed aside, I find it bizzar they would offer an anti with less grip than Bty Super Anti, if that's what they've done.

I've ordered a sheet of Grass DTecs OX for occasional practice (not a come back at this early stage). I don't have the time/energy to learn how to use anti right now. Also, I have a lingering belief that the WTTF will one day extend the frictionless level to inverted- the orginal wording didn't specifically stipulate pips out, but is simply being applied to pips out at the moment.

@shoebox- the wording does specifically adress pimples. if the ittf should make such a decision then they would not only alter the variety within a specific type of rubber (like they did with the frictionless long pimple)s but would get rid of one type of rubber fully (= anti with friction is not an anti). so i doubt that..

I'm out of touch, you could be correct. In an early version of the newly updated rules, after the frictionless ban, the wording didn't specify pips out. This could have been "clarified" on a later version however.

Obviously no one here wants another rule change that's designed to kill defenders.
