Saw this on TV a couple nights ago. Great example of the short "Hurricane" game. A surprising amount of pushing (you don't tend to see much pushing at this level). Pushes are short, when they're long they're to the corners, both players can easily open up against pushes but often don't, at least for the first 2-3 shots. Then it devolves into a loop-and-block game when one does attack.

Very good quality and good to watch without all the clapping.
Looks like Fan Zhendong is going to become unstoppable.
Some truly brilliant shots. Fan's backhand return off the serve and Xu Xin's FH - amazing how he can drive such a low ball. Did notice that Fan picked up on Xu Xin's FH bias catching him off guard on his BH. Also wondered if Xu Xin let some sets go to conserve mental energy conceding with only 3 points on the sets lost.

The finals - Xu Xin vs. Yoshimura Maharu. Looks very different! Yoshimura attacks close to the table also, but tends to open up sooner. He beat Joo Se Hyuk earlier.

I thought at one point Yoshimura was going to get the better off Xu Xin.
A lot of points won & lost on the serves.
Warning to Xu Xin on hiding the ball on the serve and questionable key serve to clinch a set but looked OK on playback.
Very few long rallies but great to watch. Plastic ball didn't seem to do what was expected of it.
Yoshimura definitely one to watch out for. Wondered if nerves got to him where he missed an easy put away ball and ended up losing the set.
Xu Xin did well pull off the win given that it was on Yoshimura's turf.
