I received an amazing gift from a student from China. The racket was purchased in China. A Butterfly Viscaria FL blade, with DHS Hurricane III on one side, and Joola energy Green Power on the other side. Before deciding how to use it, I would appreciate if someone could tell me what type of Hurricane III I have. I do know that there are many versions. The only obvious clues I can provide are that the sponge is orange in colour, and the rubber is very, very slow, markedly slower than is my Victas Koji Matsushita blade with TSP Curl P1R.

Thanks.

Steven

I would guess that is almost certainly the original Hurricane 3 rubber. This has the hardest (orange) sponge, tackiest topsheet, and does feel very slow on low impact.

haggisv,

Thanks for your very helpful explanation. Chopping with DHS Hurricane 3 on the Viscaria seems quite easy and the feel is great. Next, I need to find a new rubber for the backhand. Joola energy Green Power is obviously out of the question for me. It is tempting to get DHS Cloud and Fog 3, but that is for a sort of silly reason, i.e., I will have the perfect "atmospheric scientist set-up". My colleagues at work, who know nothing about table tennis, might be impressed. I certainly don't expect this to be my main set-up, but I would like to enjoy this great gift.

Steven

DHS 3 on Vis FL blade is great for me. I am playing aggresive game on BH with DHS3, which is award for most players but it suits me well.
