I suspect there is a sandpaper movement in China at the moment.. note that Yinhe offers sandpaper bats. Not that we get to hear about it until they start playing overseas.. like now. Interesting that the sandpaper is blue, like the Yinhe offerings. These look like older players, too.. and no RPB..

There's full time a Chinese Professional Sandpaper bat league now and whilst the two finalists were 34 and 43 there's younger players playing and at least one of the players on the weekend plays (or played) in the Chinese Super League. Also one penhold player used RPB.

For some reason Ping Pong will never hold my attention/interest.

No Idea, sorry. I am FB friends with one of the UK players that made the finals and saw a post about the balls, which is why I know they were celluloid 40mm. The discussion was around how they had orange balls.

They also said the venue played really slow compared to those used for qualification.

The ones they used in this video were Nittaku Premiums

I always thought it was an orange 44mm ball, can someone tell me why I thought this?

There was an RPB penholder, actually.

Today I was at a training camp where Chris Doran was coaching. Very tall man....6ft 8 inches. He uses short pimples on his backhand.
