It is interesting. I certainly do a lot of big swings exhausting table tennis.

However as I've started playing better players who can block a big loop I've found a place for a counter-hit. The big powerful shot is not easy to follow up with another but I can get a counter-hit off and change direction. I even practice this in warmups: Loop, counter, loop, counter.

Last night I also came to an interesting thought: my backhand loop off of backspin wins a lot of points, not on power but on spin. On my forehand side I try to destroy the ball with speed and spin and depth (loop kill?). My backhand only has spin and usually middle of the table depth. So now I've decided that on balls which are not so obvious to loop kill on the forehand side I will attempt to just add heaps of spin and do a similar motion to my backhand loop.
