Very interesting dilemma, thanks for posting ZApenholder! Good to hear your voice to a name as well

So you're saying that the ball hits the net bracket first, then the other side of the table, and then it bounces back into the net, right?

If that's the case, I agree with your conclusion. But what if it hits the bracket first, then bounces onto the net, before it bounces onto the other side? That would be a double bounce on the net, which the rules don't really cover.

Long time no SEE :)

If it touch the net assembly/Net post/net or what ever part of the net and bounce as many times as possible, it is still "Live" before it touches the table.
Once it touches the table, the ball needs to be strike by the player.

So the crucial part is before touching or after touching the table.

Currently the ruling does not say how many times it is allowed to touch the "net", but umpires have been counting it as allowed as many possible.
The above video isn't clearly defined in the rule book too, but umpires will award it to the blue player too (I actually asked a couple of umpires from different countries, so I have something to back my video, including another umpire that saw the point live at that tournament)

If you want to get a few more views, put it something like "who wins the point?" in the title... that always gets me interested... might attract other too, especially some of the umpires that visit here.
