Tried my Double Happiness CW-D last night. It's a penhold blade with a relatively long head (similar to Yasaka) and wide handle. It's very fast with very little vibration. Looks very high quality. I may have to varnish the blade face as it sticks a little too well to rubber sponges.

I tried it with a sheet of Globe 889, which is little less spinny than my usual Joola Tango Ultra or Friendship 802-40. I noticed it was very easy to get speed even on slow rolls. I didn't notice if it was faster on smashes than my usual Joola Guo 3C.

I plan to try it with a spinnier rubber next, like my Hallmark Magic pips or my new sheet of Globe 889-2 which looks very similar to 802-40 but has a softer, what may be more dynamic sponge.

On the other side I have a sheet of DHS C7 which is more controllable than Friendship 755 Faster but still plenty fast on this blade even with 1.0 sponge.

I'll keep people posted,

-- Andrew

Thanks for the feedback Andrew!

The CW-C (shakehand version of the CW-D) has the nicest and most comfortable handle of any blade I've ever seen...

How big is the head of the CW-C? I may have somebody interested.

Can you get pistol grip handle blades?

I'll check when I get home...

I have not seen any pistol grip blades...does the LKT gun qualify?

This is a true pistol grip with a slot for your fingers. My teammate really likes his, which is made by Sanwei. Here's a link: http://www.chinabat.com/# Picture of what he has is at the top left.

He'd definitely be interested in one, I may have a couple others interested depending on the price.

Glad you posted, reminded me to take the CW-C dimension:
Width 150mm
Height (top of handle to tip) 158
Weight is a little heavy, around 100g.

Yes that's right, I remember the Sanwei blades now...they look impressive...

Thanks! Let me know if you can get the Sanwei T-502 in pistol grip: http://www.chinabat.com/p4.asp?id=120

I'll send you an order for at least one plus some rubber.

Yes it does look strange, but he can loop more assertively with it and has a more reliable backhand. He likes how it feels and it doesn't hurt his shoulder. He did have to adapt to the forehand being in a different relative position. Seems fine for both looping and hitting.

He also doesn't mind being different and doesn't really care how it looks.

Well I tried the CW-D wih Andro Revolution COR short pips (red 1.8) on my forehand and Double Happiness C7 (black 1.0) on my backhand. I also added some Butterfly Power tape to bring the racket weight up to 155 grams.

I used it on a robot and against my usual practice partner. The harder sponge of the Andro rubber made it less bouncy. I immediately noticed more speed on blocks, opening loops, rolls and flips. Thiw blade and rubber may be beyond my current level, but it's sure fun to play with.

With the backhand and C7 I could occasioanlly get some cool flat RPB kills but I'm more used to inverted, so I may try a very light sheet like LKT XP instead of the medium pips.

Very nice blade, well worth the price. The Globe 889-2 looks to be a good rubber, but I'm going to try it on a different blade for now.

Cheers Andrew!

Did you 889-2 react well to the EEII?

I've experimenting with EEII right now, and I'm interested to know what it works well with...

I'll make a new thread in Equipment on the EEII, so everyone contribute...

Cheers!

The sponge became a lot bouncier and then the topsheet came unstuck.

This often happens if the bond isn't tight, which is the case with many Chinese rubbers so you may want to stick with one layer (I used two) or be ready to reapply the topsheet to the sponge.

I actually wanted to try the 889-2 topsheet for hardbat so I'll probably do that before I put it back on the sponge.

Oops that is not good... Yes Globe certainly don't have the best gluing technique and this is the most common problem I have seen with their rubbers.

I will feed this back to them, hopefully they can improve their efforts...

Yeah, I saw this before with 999 and using booster.

Not a big deal in this case as I wanted to try the topsheet by itself.
