I want too find more info on this blade... Is it the slowest of the re impact blades? Also what do you think is slowest in store?

I wanna find something like my toni hold white spot.

Also haggsiv do yo have one mephisto that is at 5.8mm thickness?

The Hydra would be the slowest.

I have not measured the ones we have, but can find the thinnest one if you're interested.

So HaggisV, is the Hydra the slowest in store or in the Re impact range?
The TSP Yanagi looks nice too and wonder how it compares in speed with Hydra

Yes the slowest of the re-impact.

Not sure how it compares in speed to the Yanagi, but I can check tonight.

Yes, I woulkd really appreciate it if you do HaggisV. The reason why... Is that I am at a toss up with the Hydra, Toni Hold and Yanagi.

I am looking for something that is very slow with soft feeling. I really dont mind spending a little more for the Hydra if it's what I am looking for.

Hydra has a hard backhand designed for LPs. Forehand is a little faster. It's a tremendous blade if you want to block till they make a mistake.

As for the Yanagi (is this the TSP Yanagi Alpha?), it's slow and soft. I'm not sure if you like soft feeling or hard feeling, and if you plan to for punch block or or if you are looking for a crisp simple block...

i am looking for extreme defense and slow and soft is what i want for next blade. The yanagi looks good as it does offer what i am looking for but i am not sure if its slow enough

Just for you MM :oops: , I compared the speed of the following, by bouncing a ball on it;

TSP Reflex 50, TSP Balsaplus 2.5, TSP Yanagi alpha, Re-impact Hydra, Donic Defplay Senso

Speed:
Yanagi alpha = Defplay Senso > Hydra > Reflex 50 = Balsaplus 2.5 (slowest)

Softness:
Reflex 50 > Hydra = Balsaplus 2.5 > Yanagi alpha > Defplay Senso (hardest)

Vibration:
Balsaplus 2.5 > Reflex 50 > Defplay Senso > Hydra = Yanagi alpha (lowest vibration)

Wow thats is great info haggisv. ;)
With softness, is it rated hard to soft?
The defplay looks great. I had one before but it had the hollow hole in the handle. Does this have the same and is it in straight?

Softness is soft -> hard (I've just marked that on there), but even the Donic is not that hard. Actually I don't think the Donic has that much 'feel' compared to the others...

hi haggsiv, I have come down to the conclusion with re impact hydra to be my next blade...
Its lightness is what brings me to it and its also complex way of manufactuer from re impact.

Can you please find the lightest you have and have it on hold and will place an order by friday

I am fan of Re-Impact Katana. I am thinking on try the Mephisto blade for Tenergy 05 1.9mm (or Tenergy 80) and TSP Curl P1R 0.5. Is a good option for chopping close the table or chopping to mid distance?

regards!!!

I've tried the T05 on the few blades, did not work that well on them. However the Katana and Mephisto are among the few that don't have Balsa (on the forehand) so that will likely make it work better, as I think it's the balsa that's the problem. The pimple should work very well on that blade, the Mephisto probably a little slower than the Katana.
